Coating

Using our high specification PVD coating equipment supplied by Leybold Optics, enables us finish the surface of your optical components to suit your specification. Software tools allow us to simulate and predict the optical performance of your system in order to optimize in service reliability & performance. Using this method we can closely define & specify the optical, chemical & Mechanical performance of the coatings in order to replicate the high performance of traditional glass optical systems.

  • Antireflex (AR)
  • Optimization of Reflection (HR) for Mirrors, Reflectors, Filters, Beam Splitters, etc..
  • Hard coat for mechanical resistance (Anti Scratch), i.e. glasslike hardness with SiO2 layers
  • Topcoat for chemical functions to achieve resistance against moisture and hazardous gases, extending product lifetime and broadening the design applications.

To generate mechanically stable layers with high refractivity, good adhesion and low absorption on plastics that are difficult for coating (i.e. PMMA) we use plasma - ion supported vapour deposition. The plasma activates the polymer surface without heating and therefore enables outstanding coating results.
